There are a number of system keys set up that determine how the Contract System will function:

CN_AMEND_HISTORY
Allow Contract Amendment History?
This key is no longer used.
CN_DEFAULT_SITE
Default Site Code
This key determines the code that is automatically entered into the Site field when a new Contract is entered onto the system.
CN_FILE_AUTO_NO
Automatic File Reference Numbering?
This key determines whether the system will generate an automatic File Reference Number when a new contract is created.
If set to Y the system will use the values held in CN_FILE_PREFIX and CN_FILE_LAST_NO to generate the number.
If set to N the system will not generate a number, it must be entered manually.
CN_FILE_LAST_NO
Last File Reference Number Used
This key holds the numeric part of the last File Reference number generated by the system. It is held as a seven digit number with leading zeroes, e.g. 0000016
CN_FILE_PREFIX
File Reference Prefix
This key holds the prefix part of the File Reference Number. This prefix will be different for each controlling site, e.g. QCL/ will generate a File Ref Number of QCL/0000017.
