Global Material Enquiry

 
Occasionally the user may want to check on the details of a Material without knowing in which part of the Material System it will be found.
 
The Global Material Enquiry allows the user to search for a Material in the Current and Archive Material areas from one screen.
 
Once a successful query has been made, the Global Material Enquiry will show where it found the Material that it is currently displaying.
 
The screen displayed is identical to the Current Material and Archived Material screens.
 
 
On entering the Global Material Enquiry screen, 2 buttons are shown on the bottom of the screen.
 
Find - Allows the user to search for specific Items in the Material System.
 
Exit- Allows the user to leave the Global Material Enquiry screen and return to the Material System Menu.
 
 
Once a successful query has been performed, a further button will appear. Depending on whether the displayed record was found in the Current or Live System this button will function either as:
 
Archive - Allows the transfer of the displayed Material from Current Material to Archived Material.
 
or:
 
Retrieve - Allows the transfer of the displayed Material from Archived Material to Current Material. This option should only be used when Material has been returned from Off-Site or has been archived by mistake.
